SYDNEY – Former Australian cricketer Michelle Goszko was rushed to hospital on Saturday after suffering a stroke. The 44-year-old was admitted to intensive care and has since awoken and is able to speak. Goszko told DailyMail that she doesn’t believe her stroke is related to the COVID vaccine but said she would still have the jabs even if it was.
“As far as I am aware this has absolutely nothing to do with the Covid-19 vaccination.
Even if it did I would have still had the Covid vaccine to help protect vulnerable people.”
On Sunday, Goszko posted a message on Instagram from her hospital bed:
Some people immediately commented on the post, speculating whether it was connected to the shot, a charge she denies.
Goszko played four Test matches, 34 One Day Internationals and one T20 International for Australia between 2001 and 2006.
The batter scored 669 runs across her ODI career at an average of 25.73.
Goszko scored a memorable 204 on her Test debut against England, which remains the highest ever score by a women’s Test debutant.
