Juventus striker Marco De Graca will undergo heart surgery after he was diagnosed with heart arrhythmia, reports Juventus FC. De Graca, who made his Champions League debut last month, will now be forced to sideline for at least 30 days.
The news of De Graca’s heart problems comes shortly after Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies was diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. Davies had received his COVID booster shot during the winter break in December.
Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed on January 11th during a press conference that all players on the squad had been vaccinated except for goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny.
“All the players are vaccinated, but Szczesny is the last one to be vaccinated and therefore he will not yet have a green pass.”
On December 28th, De Graca had tested positive for COVID-19 as Juventus released a statement saying:
“Juventus Football Club communicates that Juventus U23 players Enzo Barrenechea, Gabriele Boloca, Marco Da Graca and Marco Raina have all tested positive for COVID-19.”
This season, Da Graca permanently joined the ranks of Juventus Under 23 and on December 8th last month, he made his UEFA Champions League debut in a 1–0 win against Malmö, coming on as a substitute in the 89th minute.
Just last month, football superstar Sergio Aguero announced his retirement from football after he was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia. The Barcelona striker had been fully vaccinated. Please consider supporting by sharing or making a donation.
