KATERINI, GREECE – A young man is paralyzed as a result of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. George Vagiannidis got his shot on September 1st at the General Hospital of Katerini. He suffered a 40-degree fever shortly afterward and was hospitalized on the same day. His feet and legs went numb while he was examined by neurologists. He’s been in hospital since September 1st making little improvement.

George described what had happened to him in a lengthy post on Instagram. “I can’t stand or walk, my legs can’t make basic movements. I do physiotherapy every day. I have seen an improvement compared to previous days. I keep positive thoughts,” George wrote from his bed in Papanikolaou hospital, where he is being treated.

His post in detail:

Translation: “Good evening, my name is George Vagiannidis.
Because there has been a lot of talk surrounding me lately, I want to clarify my situation so that there are no further rumors regarding my state of health. On Wednesday, September 1st, I made an appointment for my vaccination (Johnson and Johnson). I want to emphasize that it was my choice and that NO ONE urged me to do so. I went to the General Hospital of Katerini and had the vaccine. All this around 16.00. Everything went fine. All they told me was “wait for 15 minutes and if you feel anything let us know”. I didn’t feel anything so I left.

Around 23.00, I was lying down when I started to feel unwell. I was very cold, I felt weak. The symptoms got worse. Chills, dizziness, weakness, more intense fever. I reached 39.9 degrees. I went to the hospital at 4.00 at dawn.
I waited for about 45 minutes before I got to the emergency room. While I was waiting, I began to feel numb. I needed a neurologist to examine my feet because I had no feeling in them anymore. I was then rushed to Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki.

I was thoroughly examined by neurologists. Everything came out clean. The days go by. The exams continue.
‘You do not have anything abnormal based on the tests we have done for you so far.’ ‘It’s not this.‘ ‘It is not that.‘ ‘It may be psychological,‘ they said. What they for sure have NOT said is that it may be due to the VACCINE!
‘No such side effect has been found with this vaccine.’
‘We rule it out, as similar incidents to yours would have been found, which has not happened so far.’

Today is Monday, September 13th. The 12th day that I am in the hospital. I can’t stand or walk, my legs can’t make basic movements. I do physiotherapy every day, I have seen an improvement compared to the previous days.
I keep positive thoughts.
I will not give up.
I will fight.
I will try.
I will get tired.
I’ll make it.”
