The billionaire owner of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk has shown his support to Canadian truck drivers protesting COVID vaccine mandates for cross-border drivers.
On Thursday, Musk tweeted that “Canadian truckers rule” as reports of the truckers protesting in Ottawa made international news.
Musk’s tweet appears to be an endorsement of the drivers’ pro-freedom positions. The Canadian government enacted a requirement forcing all cross-border truck drivers to be vaccinated as of January 15th. The US has imposed the same requirement on truckers entering the country.
Late last year, Musk told TIME magazine that he was against vaccine mandates, saying:
I believe the science is unequivocal, I treat it to that effect. But by the same token I am against forcing people to be vaccinated.
I think we should encourage people to get vaccinated, strongly try and convince them to be vaccinated, but not force them to be vaccinated.
Or for example, force them to get vaccinated or get fired.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the “small fringe” trucker convoy on the way to Ottawa does “not represent the views of Canadians.”
However, the triple vaccinated Prime Minister announced today he had gone into isolation for five days as thousands of Canadians are about to arrive in Ottawa to protest the vaccine mandates. Please consider supporting by sharing or making a donation.
