In an interview with TIME magazine, who named him ‘Person of the Year’, Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk said he is against vaccine mandates.
The wealthiest individual on the planet told Jeffrey Kluger in the interview that “I think this is just not something we should do in America.”

When asked if he was vaccinated, Musk replied “Yes. Yeah I am,” and added, “I’m very pro-vaccination.”
He clarified:
“I believe the science is unequivocal, I treat it to that effect. But by the same token I am against forcing people to be vaccinated.
You know I think this is just not something we should do in America. I think we should encourage people to get vaccinated, strongly try and convince them to be vaccinated, but not force them to be vaccinated.
Or for example, force them to get vaccinated or get fired.”
Musk has made it clear before he’s no fan of big government imposing restrictions on people and businesses in the name of fighting the pandemic. When California forced nonessential businesses to close, Musk fought publicly with officials and eventually reopened Tesla’s California factory in defiance of their rules.
Musk also previously called for America to be re-opened, asserting, “give people their freedom back!”
