MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES – The New England Patriots have released veteran quarterback Cam Newton in a “shocking” move. Newton, 32-years-old, was expected to be named the starter after starting all of last season and throughout training camp. Newton started all three preseason games, including Sunday’s preseason finale against the New York Giants. Newton was released on Thursday morning after weeks of controversy surrounding his non-vaccinated status.
